SUMMIT COUNTY — To accommodate vehicles and additional visitors to Summit County over the Fourth of July weekend, Denver Water will keep Dillon Dam Road open as late as midnight today and Saturday to facilitate the flow of traffic in the area.
Local law enforcement officials will be present on each side of the dam to assist with enforcement of the dam road's vehicle restrictions.
The Dillon Dam Security Task Force — made up of members of Denver Water, Summit County, Dillon, Silverthorne and Frisco, law enforcement, fire response, emergency management and public works — continues to meet on a regular basis.
The decision to extend hours of Dillon Dam Road was made by the group at a recent meeting. Dillon Dam Road typically is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
