Shame on the Monday morning (June 29) disc jockeys who trashed the Porsche attendees of the national Porsche Club of America Parade taking place this past week at Keystone. On the early morning show, the two disc jockeys made several negative comments about the many Porsche cars seen all over the county. They incorrectly stated that Porsche drivers “drive off the showroom with their new cars and think they are important” and “the MG car owners at least work on their cars.” How ignorant to make such uninformed comments. Had they taken the time to speak to some of the drivers or attended the open-to-the-public Concourse at the Ranch on Tuesday, they would have seen the many vintage Porsches that have been maintained and restored meticulously.
More important, as homeowners in Dillon and long-term members of Porsche Club of America, we take issue with the disc jockeys who embarrassed us and the county by trashing a specific group of tourists who drove from all over the country to spend a week as guests in Keystone. Over 2,000 Porsche enthusiasts came here to spend time and add revenue to our county, and these comments made many of the Porsche participants feel unwelcome. The disc jockeys need to understand that the county depends upon tourism, and it is totally unacceptable to trash any category of tourists. A public apology from Krystal radio is due.
