Good morning and welcome to Summit Up, the world's only daily column delving once again into the wild world of epic beasts. Somewhere on this page, readers will see two pictures taken by local man Kevin Bird a few weeks ago. The ram photo was taken in Buena Vista and the moose was captured on film in Bird's back yard on Peak 7.

We are super impressed by Bird's tenacity and drive to get up close and personal with these horned creatures. We're also jealous. We live on Peak 7, and no moose for us? True, if a moose strutted even into our neighbor's yard, we'd probably be writing how terrible and shocking the run-in was, but in truth we like these sometimes ill-tempered, wild forest cows.

And, yes, we know. They aren't cows. They're cars — at least they're as big as one. In our mind. Moose are the monster truck version of antlered beasts.

Even more disappointing, we chose to go to the gym Sunday instead of running up Peak 7 with our sweetie, and HE saw a moose. It inflames our soul. They faced off for 30 seconds, after the extra-large legged moose creature crashed onto the road and just stood in the middle of it, staring at him. P.S. We love this moose in the photo. He (we think it's a dude) looks so docile and loving, even sweet, as he reclines in the forest. His eyes are soft and sleepy. This is our kind of animal!

Oh, and we like that ram too. Talk about invading that chewing creature's space.

In other — more romantic — news, Devon O'Neil and Larissa Enns of Breckenridge recently tied the knot. If you see them around town, give them a shout out.

We're out, not hanging out with moose.
