In a non-league contest at Denver Christian on Monday, the Summit High soccer team struggled to a 3-0 loss.
“Our overall concentration was lacking, and the desire to pass the ball around and play our game wasn't there,” SHS head coach Matt Zeiset said. “I guess that's what happens when you play like that.”
Zeiset did say that his Tigers did a solid job of controlling the ball during the game. And if shots were any indication of how the flow of the game went, Summit had 17 shots to Denver Christian's 19.
Another positive for Summit, the coach said, was that Monday's match wasn't in Jeffco League play, so it doesn't truly affect the Tigers' season standings.
Summit (1-3) is back on the pitch tonight, when the Tigers play host to Englewood at Climax Molybdenum Field at Tiger Stadium at 6 p.m.
