SUMMIT COVE — A Summit Cove landmark is closing down Oct. 1 and will disappear within the year, said John Karras, a Summit Cove local.
“It's that gray building known as the Summit Cove Recreation Center set back from Cove Boulevard at the intersection with Summit Drive sitting with its attendant parking lot and tennis court on a large vacant lot,” Karras said in an e-mail, adding that the property is owned by the Summit Cove Recreation Association.
According to Karras, members of the association recently approved shutting the center down on Thursday. And it will be demolished no later than Sept. 1, 2010.
