FRISCO — Once again this year, the town of Frisco is marking its “Autumn Spectacular” season with two specially labeled wines.
The town partnered with Guy Drew Vineyards in Cortez, Colo. to offer two bottles with the town's labels. One is “9097 Main Street,” a red Syrah; the other is “Peak One Chardonnay,” a white. Both are available at liquor stores and restaurants in Frisco.
Trevor Johnson, general manager at Antler's Liquor, called both bottles “really good.”
“I think they're more approachable than last year's,” he said. “The Chardonnay is slightly sweet — comparable to a Kendall Jackson. It's un-oaked, but very good, very approachable.”
Johnson characterized the Syrah as “not over done.”
“It's a drier wine, but with good fruit — especially for Colorado. It's ready to drink.”
The wines go for about $15 a bottle in stores and should be available for several months.
