There's no question that David Letterman sets the standards for late night television.
“Late Night with David Letterman” rules the ratings and even Conan O'Brien and Jimmy Kimmel seem like amateurs next to Dave. Even when Letterman's scandalous sex affairs with his staffers were exposed a couple weeks ago, it only made his rating soar higher.
So it's no surprise that his successors want to mimic his success, even if it means sleeping around to get to the top. OK, that's a stretch, but Jimmy Kimmel has just been “outed” by his staff for dating his head writer, Molly McNearney, a job she got based on favoritism.
According to one staffer, Molly has been using her relationship with Jimmy to move up in the show, even though she is less deserving and qualified than other staffers. If you're a Kimmel fan, then you know about his long dating history with fellow comedienne Sarah Silverman, who was a regular on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” Well, many staffers believe that Kimmel's relationship with Molly started while Jimmy was still dating Sarah. Maybe these late night hosts should start incorporating their own lives into their monologues. It's pretty juicy material!

In the hole
Maybe celebrities should take some sort of financial planning course as they enter into the world of fame. It seems that so many of them eventually get plagued with bad spending habits and then are forced into bad reality shows to pay the bills. This week, financial woes struck Courtney Love and Toni Braxton, two formerly very famous and successful singers. Now they're on the other side of the news. Love owes approximately $325,000 to the government for back taxes stemming from 2007. I love that celebrities think that they're above the law and the rules don't apply to them. Ms. Cobain, you need to pay up just like the rest of us or you will go to jail! Braxton better find a way to revive her career because financial problems follow her around like a shadow. Bank of America is looking to foreclose on Braxton's Hollywood home because she owes $12,000 in mortgage payments. That may not seem like a lot for someone like Braxton, but apparently she has a long history of bad credit and poor spending habits, so the debt adds up.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt still don't think they have enough children. Six is not enough, and Jolie even confirmed to Life and Style magazine that they plan to add at least two more to their ever-expanding brood. Sounds like their trying to start their own circus.Speaking of children, Heidi Klum and Seal just welcomed another child, daughter Lou Sulola, on Oct. 9. The couple has two boys, Henry, 4, and Johan, 2, and Heidi has a daughter Leni, 5, from a previous relationship. Unlike the Jolie-Pitt family, Heidi has said that they are now done having kids.
Michael Jordan is a big guy, but how much room does he really need? The answer: 38,000 square feet. That's the size of the house he's building in Palm Beach, Fla. Wonder if he's packing in a basketball arena?
