Pumpkinfest comes to Silverthorne

Pumpkinfest in Silverthorne

The Silverthorne Pavilion is hosting the Whole Foods Market Pumpkinfest on Sunday on the Pavilion Lawn from 2-3 p.m., followed by Trick or Treat Off the Street at the Outlets at Silverthorne from 3-5 p.m.

The Whole Foods Market Pumpkinfest will create a “pumpkin patch” feel for children to come pick out their free pumpkin for the holiday. The pumpkin patch will open promptly at 2 p.m., allowing a one pumpkin per child limit, while supplies last.

After you pick your pumpkin, head over to the Outlets at Silverthorne for Trick or Treat Off the Street from 3-5 p.m. Trick or Treaters can parade in their costumes throughout the three villages and receive free treats from participating merchants. Plus, Mom and Dad can treat themselves to all the savings on their favorite name brands.

The Silverthorne Pavilion is located at 400 Blue River Parkway in Silverthorne. For more information, contact Blair at (970) 262-7396.

Grand Lodge earns Offical Best Of award

Official Best Of is proud to be featuring Colorado's top attractions on The Official Best Of Colorado 2009. The Official Best of Colorado will be on KCNC-CBS 4, Denver at noon on Oct. 24 as well as on the popular OfficialBestOf.com travel website.

Awarded as The Official Best this year are: Colorado Cattle Company, New Raymer, Best Vacation Guest Ranch; Grand Lodge on Peak 7, Breckenridge, Best Mountain Lodge and Spa; Ouray Resort Chamber Association, Ouray, Best Recreation Destination Denver Museum of Nature and Science, Denver, Best Science Museum; Gateway Canyons Resort, Gateway, Best Adventure Resort City of Trinidad, Trinidad, Best of the West.

The Official Best Of was started in 2004 by executive producer Brett Allen, a television executive from St. Louis, Mo., who saw a need for a researched travel resource that also provides television features online as an additional resource for travelers, whether in-state or out-of-state, and thus, The Official Best Of was born. Each state production showcases outstanding “best” attractions in a variety of categories located throughout each state. A research staff studies online travel sites, state tourism information, CVB resources and other sources to determine whether an attraction merits the “Official Best” distinction. One distinction that sets Official Best Of apart from many other travel sites is that it doesn't accept advertising on either its television programs or its website. The selection of attractions is entirely by merit, and lesser known but worthy attractions are given the same attention as famous ones.

As with each state production, The Official Best of Colorado for 2009 will offer a great resource for those planning a vacation, day trip or outing for residents within the State of Colorado and for out-of-town visitors as well. Official Best Of is currently working its way through all fifty states. Visit www.OfficialBestOf.com for more information.
