New Improvement Project ‘Step Up Main Street' being launched in Frisco

The Town of Frisco is looking to redesign Main Street and wants the public's input on how to do it. The Town is holding a public open house on Nov. 9 from 4-8 p.m. at the Historic Log Chapel located on Second and Main Street.

“Step Up Main Street” is an improvement project launched by the Town in recent weeks. After receiving input from various Main Street property owners, the project now aims to gather community-wide input.

Drawing on input gathered at the open house, staff will draft up a preferred site alternative to present to the community at a subsequent open house. A final preferred site alternative will then be presented to town council. Staff aims to present the final plan to council for approval in January 2010.

Main Street was deeded to the Town by CDOT in 1981 and improvements were made in 1982. Today, the infrastructure is outdated and aging. Once a final plan is created and construction drawings are completed, staff anticipates getting the new improvements underway in 2011.
