Q: What type of business do you operate — what do you sell, or what service do you provide?

A: Ten Peaks Lodging provides vacation rental homes geared towards families coming to Breckenridge to experience a great family vacation together. Many of our clients are mult-family travelers, that is two or three families coming out together to ski, bike, hike, or enjoy many of the other wonderful outdoor activities in Summit County. Multi-family vacations have become a popular way to save on lodging and other travel expenses and simply just enjoy each others company while staying together in a large home. Some of our guest families are related and others are just good friends spending time together.

Q: Where are you from, and why did you decide to open your business in Summit County?

A: We are from St. Paul, Minnesota and have been coming out to Colorado several times a year on vacation. Summit County was the obvious choice because it has so much to offer, a real town and community, unbelievable mountain scenery, and endless activities both indoors and out.

Q: What experience do you have in this field?

A: Mark has been in property management and real estate development since 1988 and worked in a variety of property types.

Q: What sets your business apart from other similar businesses?

A: Our focus on family is the most important part of our business. We are a family of five, Mom, Dad, and three kids. We enjoy traveling so much as a family and with other families over the years we have taken our own experiences and created a business that helps other families get the most out of their vacations together. We provide lodging that is situated in the best areas that allow families with children of all ages to experience the mountain with the most ease. We outfit our homes with necessities such as cribs, game systems, family board games, and provide advice on a variety of activities that will keep everyone entertained during their stay no matter what the age.

Q: What types of customers do you hope to reach in Summit County?

A: Our customers are actually coming to Summit County from all over the United States and the world, so our focus is attracting families from everywhere to Summit County to come and enjoy our community.

Q: Why did you choose to open where you did?

A: We chose to open in Breckenridge because it is the center of activity no matter what time of year. Since a majority of our business is during the winter, the proximity to the ski resort was important as well as the majority of our vacation home are located close the resort.

Q: What are your plans for your company's future?

A: Our plans for the future are simple; help families create life long memories while vacationing in Breckenridge together. We are a small family run company and intend to stay that way by limiting the number of homes we manage in order to provide the best service to our guests as well as the owner's homes we take care of. We are interested in taking on a couple more homes for the coming season and would enjoy talking to owners interested in a quality management experience with a family guest focus.
