BRECKENRIDGE — Red, White and Blue Fire will host a spaghetti dinner/silent auction fundraiser to assist one of its firefighters who has fallen ill.
Earlier this summer, firefighter Steve Webster, one of the department's most experienced firefighters and paramedics, exhibited symptoms that left him unable to work and unable to receive treatment. Webster's diagnosis, chiari malformation, a rare abnormality at the base of the brain, may only be part of the problem as further tests revealed. Doctors are struggling to determine if he has other medical conditions.
Unable to work for several months now, and uncertain of his future work career, Webster has accrued major medical expenses. He has been in the fire and emergency medical service for over 20 years, serving as a Flight for Life paramedic, and has fought numerous forest fires throughout the country.
Please join Red, White and Blue Nov. 21, from 4-7 p.m., at their main station, 316 N. Main St. Breckenridge, to help raise funds to offset Webster's bills. All-you-can-eat spaghetti, salad, dessert and drink will be served for $10 per adult, $5 for kids. A facepainter will be available to delight the little ones.
Silent auction donations will gladly be accepted, and can be dropped off at the above location. An account has been set up at Alpine Bank in Breckenridge, for those who wish to make a monetary donation.
For more information, please contact Red, White and Blue Fire District at: (970) 453-2474 or go to www.rwbfire.org.
