Dennis Micheletti of Grand Junction and formerly of Breckenridge, died Jan. 20. He was 74.
Dennis was born to Mary and Arthur Micheletti on May 12, 1936 in Gilbert, Minn. He joined IBM in Rochester, Minn. in 1957 and retired after 30 years of service with them in Boulder. He was drafted in 1958 and was stationed for one year in Seoul, Korea.
Dennis loved everything about Colorado and made it very clear to all he never wanted to live anywhere else. He took advantage of every outdoor sport Colorado had to offer. He especially enjoyed working with the Special Olympic alpine skiers at their state meets.
Breckenridge was a special place for Dennis, having lived there permanently for 20 years. He always said he could never enter the Figure 8 contest on Peak 7 because he could only do “9s.”
Those he loved will remember him for his infectious smile and mischievous ways.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa along with sisters Janice, Patricia, Diane and Audrey and brother Peter. He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
Dennis will be remembered at Fort Logan and Breckenridge cemeteries, with services pending.
Dennis wanted to thank all those who helped make his last journey of life much easier for him. Theresa wishes to thank you, too.
Memorial contributions can be made in his name to The Gift of Life Program, 650 Komas Drive #106A, Salt Lake City, UT, 84108. Contributions can also be made to the hospice of your choice or the Special Olympics.
