SUMMIT COUNTY — Continental Divide Land Trust (CDLT) invites all conservation-minded cats to get down at the annual Friends of Open Space Party at 5:30-8 p.m., Friday in the Summit County Community and Senior Center near the County Commons on Peak One Drive in Frisco.
The party includes games, prizes, live music, information booths, refreshments and an inspiring silent auction with dozens of outdoors-themed prizes, including rowing lessons with an Olympian, a guided tour and picnic at Giberson Ranch, a wildflower hike with expert Pat Taylor, fishing trips, Nordic skiing lessons, fine art, gift certificates and more.
All funds raised will benefit CDLT's open space preservation and resource protection efforts in the Colorado High Country.
“There is a lot going on in Summit County on Friday, so feel free to come by the Open Space Party on the way to the events for Kelly Secor or Dwight Brill,” CDLT director Leigh Girvin said. “Our event is earlier than most, so you can double dip.”
CDLT, formed in 1994, holds
15 conservation easements totaling about 2,600 acres in Summit and Park counties. One of its most well-known easements is the Giberson Ranch, about 200 acres above the Interstate 70 roundabout in Frisco.
Tickets cost $15 for adults and $5 for children and may be purchased at the door.
