SUMMIT COUNTY — The Leoniads Fund, a nonprofit servicing returning troops, and Copper Mountain are hosting active duty soldiers, family members and U.S.O. staff members for a day of donated skiing and snowboarding on Tuesday, Feb. 9.
“We'll host these great warriors for a day of rest and relaxation,” said Leoniads spokesman Tom Torres in an e-mail. He also noted that a local band — Jukebox Hero— will perform over lunch.
The Leoniads Fund collects donation for care packages to send to soldiers over seas. For more information, contact founder Tim Gurule at (970) 389-6846 or Tom Torres at (970) 468-6711.
