Results for event that had thousands participate in Frisco Saturday
Some 2,3000 people participated in this year's Romp to Stopm out Breast Cancer Saturday at the Frisco Peninsula. Organizers say the event topped the $100,000 raised last year, although donations are still coming in and final numbers aren't yet available.
The event benefits the Denver affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, which provides granting funds to Summit County non-profits supporting women going through breast cancer. Following are some of the top finishers and fund raisers from Saturday:
Top fundraiser: Jill Overdorf $4,705; second place: B Caspula $4,508; third place: Melanie Blood $2,900
Top team: W.I.N.O.S. of CO $9,235; top team captain: Susan Kober;
Second-place team: CO Snow Divas $5,760; second-place team captain: Wendy Kling; third-place team (Special Mention): SOUL Sisters of Universal Love $3,843 capt: Kathy Crowder.
Top overall male: Tim Hola 18:05; top overall female: Colleen Ihnken 21:02
Top male master: Craig Kessler 28:35; top female master Diane Groff 23:18
Top survivor: Diane Groff 23:18; total participation: 2,190; total fundraising: $80,000 and counting
