FRISCO, Colo., April 15, 2010 — The Summit Independent Business Alliance (SIBA) and Our Future Summit are announcing keynote speakers for this year's SustainaBiz event June 2. Speakers will include Eric Drummond, Partner, Sherman & Howard, Denver and former Mayor, Manitou Springs, and Clark Anderson, Director, Sonoran Institute's Western CO Legacy Program, Glenwood Springs. Drummond will speak on “Bringing Big Initiatives Home, Global, Green Strategies for the Municipal Level”, while Anderson will center his talk on “The Role of Entrepreneurship in Creating Prosperous, Livable Communities.” SustainaBiz 2010 will also include presentations by over a dozen local and regional experts, geared toward community leaders, business owners, and employees — especially, those who care about improving the economic vitality of Summit County through a more holistic, sustainable approach.
“We're excited about the impressive lineup of speakers and workshop leaders we have this year, including our two keynotes who will travel to Summit County to share their know-how and examples with us,” says Katie Roberts, executive director of SIBA (http://www.summitindependentbusiness.com/). “This is a very hands-on, roll-up-your sleeves sort of conference, where people come together to grow their understanding of sustainability and how they can make better use of their personal and professional resources, from doing something as simple and immediate as installing more energy-efficient light bulbs to creating better strategies for hiring and retaining quality employees to looking at what we can do as stewards in our community to effect a greater self-reliance, smart growth, and a conscientious, caring approach to bolstering economic health.”

SustainaBiz 2010 tickets are also being sold at High Country Conservation Center's Earth Day Action Fair, Thursday, April 22, 2010, 6–8:30 p.m., at The Silverthorne Pavilion.
