The Silverthorne Recreation Center will host the inaugural King of the Beach volleyball tournament on Sunday. And the tourney isn't like many beach ballers have ever seen.

The format consists of evolving two-person teams, where all players rotate with different teammates and partners through four rounds of play. The opening round has four nets and five players on each side. Each player has to play with every player on their side. From there, the top-two players — based on point differential — will advance to the next round. This continues through four rounds, until one official “King of the Beach” is crowned.
