The CARHOF (Colorado Association of Realtors Housing Opportunity Foundation) Board of Directors met Aug. 23, and approved $101,243 of local CARHOF grants, $29,500 of state funds and $100,000 of Workforce Housing Initiative for a total of $230,743. This money has been distributed to local organizations throughout the state.
Among the recipients is the Summit Combined Housing Authority, who will receive $10,000 to go toward downpayment assistance that will be help Summit County employees to purchase homes in the communities where they work.
SCHA would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to CARHOF for their generous support. With two new affordable housing developments underway such as Valley Brook Neighborhood and Peak One, other affordable homes currently on the market, and the ongoing issues with economy, the need for downpayment assistance is up. This money will go a long way to helping locals achieve the dream of owning their own home in Summit County.
