I'm confused. My guests pay almost $100 each day to ski at Keystone. Keystone has taken away almost all the benefits we had as Keystone owners. Now I'm being asked to vote on an improvement district that will force me to pay taxes for flowers and trees on Keystone Resort property and the highway median? The people who are behind this have seeming disregard for the state of this economy and the sheer selfishness behind it. The timing behind the push for this tax is so poor, it's out and out nonsense.
I am a full-time Keystone resident and the taxes are high enough. Keystone cut our shuttle, why aren't the people behind the flowers fighting for a shuttle? A shuttle would be exceedingly more beneficial to all home owners and renters than a bunch of flowers, banners and trees. I have owned homes in two different resort areas and this by far is the most ridiculous “tax” I have seen.
Give me a break, we live in the mountains not Florida. We are not Vail, we are Keystone and mostly a winter resort. If this does pass, I hope all the truckers that drive by enjoy the summer flowers, banners and trees. I have traveled all over the world and NEVER have I ever said “gee, I want to go back to that place because the flowers were so beautiful on the medians.”
I want preserve my property value as much as the next person. I believe a shuttle would EXPONENTIALLY benefit our community rather than flowers. Let's face it, Keystone is mainly a winter resort, you can't see the flowers in the winter under all the snow. A shuttle would be used year-round.
Vote no on this ridiculous tax.
