Shoppers at Borders Books in Dillon can help young children cope with traumatic events by purchasing extra books and stuffed animals to be distributed through Summit County's three fire departments. From now until Dec. 25, patrons will be asked at checkout if they'd like to add an item to their purchase, generally ranging from $1.99 to $25 that will be placed on fire engines to hand out to children involved in car wrecks, fires and other frightening events.
