St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church will be having a bake sale on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be lots of cookies, cakes, holiday goodies and hot cider. Plan on buying your holiday baked goods at St. John's this year!
Chili Cook Off at Day Lodge in Frisco on Saturday
The Town of Frisco is teaming up with the Summit County Chamber of Commerce to bring you the 2011 Best in the West Chili Cook Off on Saturday from 5-7 p.m. at the Day Lodge at the Frisco Adventure Park. Admission to the Best in the West Chili contest includes all you can eat chili and two drink tickets. Additional drinks are available at the bar. Frisco's Santa Dash for Cash set for Saturday
Show off your inner Santa as you dash down Main Street for the inaugural Frisco Santa Dash for Cash. This fun run takes place Saturday starting at 3 p.m. as part of Frisco's Wassail Days celebration. The dash raises money for the Summit County Cares project. The money raised helps clients of the Family & Intercultural Resource Center, Summit Community Care Clinic, Advocates for Victims of Assault and Social Services with heat assistance and medical care.The dash is a one-mile costumed run complete with a milk and cookie station. Kids 12 and under are free and pets are welcome. Registration includes a Santa Dash T-shirt, Santa hat and 1⁄2 hour tubing session at the Frisco Adventure Park. Naughty or nice — every Santa stocking has the chance for a $100 in cash.

Silverthorne Holiday Bazaar slated for Saturday
The Town of Silverthorne invites you to attend the annual Holiday Bazaar at the Silverthorne Pavilion, 400 Blue River Parkway. The event takes place Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Over 30 vendors will be selling a variety of holiday items sure to please even the pickiest person on your list. While shopping enjoy a holiday dance performance by the Silverthorne Recreation Center dance program participants at 10 a.m. and visit with Santa. Bells will be ringing
Volunteers are needed for the 2011 Salvation Army Bell Ringing Campaign. Following are the specifics of the campaign: Dates: Nov. 25 through Dec. 23Locations: City Market - Breckenridge and Dillon, Safeway, Walmart.
Shifts: All shifts are for two hours: Monday-Friday: 1-3, 3-5, 5-7 p.m.
Saturday - Sunday: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1-3, 3-5, 5-7 p.m.
All proceeds from the campaign benefit the local community by helping individuals/families in need. To volunteer, contact social services at (970) 668-9160, or FIRC at 262-3888 ext. 302. Summit Nordic Ski Club — Little Shooter's Program; open house on Saturday
The Summit Nordic Ski Club Little Shooter's Program is for children in grades 3-5. This is a great opportunity to learn to Nordic ski for your little one. The cost for the season is $125. The Hartford Ski Spectacular comes to Breck next week
The Hartford Ski Spectacular is one of the nation's largest winter sports festivals for people with disabilities with more than 850 registered participants annually. The weeklong event is Dec. 4-11 in Breck.The Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center is the local chapter host of Disabled Sports USA, and the premier provider of Adaptive Ski and Ride lessons and looks forward to this annual event. Hundreds of skiers and riders from around the country will enjoy a week of skiing and riding, as well as ongoing clinics and races. This is also a signature event for wounded warriors who want to pursue skiing and competitive skiing. The BOEC provides people with disabilities and/or special needs the opportunity to experience a variety of snow sports. Programs offer one-on-one lessons using the latest in adaptive techniques and equipment, and some of the best staff in the business. They maintain an up-to-date inventory of equipment to fit every need. Alpine, cross-country skiing and snowboarding instruction will be available to hundreds of disabled athletes.
The Colorado Gives Day, Dec. 6, is a great way to make a donation to BOEC to help them continue the great work they do in our community.
