Stranger in the house A Dillon Valley man arrived home from school last week to find a stranger watching TV in his house.
He arrived home in the afternoon and saw an unfamiliar pair of shoes sitting outside his front door and the television on a court TV program. Thinking his sister was home he went upstairs and came back down to find someone he didn't know kneeling in front of the TV, according to a report from the Summit County Sheriff's Office.
He screamed and ran toward the stranger, ready to punch him, yelling at the man to get out of his house. The trespasser left, crying through an open door and grabbed his coat and shoes on the way out.
Deputies with the sheriff's office were called in to investigate and later found the trespasser at a residence across the street.
The man later said he was under the influence of cigarettes, coffee, marijuana and an asthma inhaler when he went into the house uninvited. He first knocked at the neighbors' house, he later told authorities, but when no one answered, he took off his shoes, went in through the unlocked door and began to pray for the people who lived in the house.
The trespasser was charged with first-degree criminal trespass, a Class V felony. He was not armed when he entered the house or when he was arrested.

While waiting for the ambulance to arrive, the man was “growling,” “howling” and at one point spit at one of the officers, who described his behavior as devil-like.
The man was eventually transported to the hospital, where a breath test determined his blood alcohol content to be .369.
The man was issued a summons for assault.
