The Colorado Department of Transportation will close one eastbound lane of Interstate 70 through the Twin Tunnels through much of next week for inspection work.

One lane will be closed from 8 p.m. Monday through 11 a.m. Tuesday and from 5 p.m. Tuesday through 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11.

The closure is expected to cause delays approaching the tunnel particularly during the day.

CDOT will monitor traffic and readjust the closure or reopen the lane if long backups develop, according to a transportation department statement Thursday.
