Georgia man dies at Keystone Resort

On Sunday at 11:51 a.m., the Summit County Coroner's Office was paged to respond to the end of Keystone Gulch Road to meet Keystone Ski Patrol with a mountain fatality. Fifty-eight-year-old skier Odo Lessacher, from Griffin, Ga., was found in the trees at the intersection of Alamo and Prospector (both intermediate runs). Ski patrol made contact with Lessacher at 10 a.m., after a bystander phoned it in. They immediately began CPR. Lessacher was declared deceased by a nurse from Care Flight at 11:51.

Authorities originally believed the man was in his 30s. Lessacher was not wearing a helmet and died of blunt force trauma to the chest and internal bleeding.
