Is your child interested in lacrosse?

Join the Breckenridge Recreation Center lacrosse team. With teams for fourth- through eighth-graders, boys and girls alike can learn the game and play in the Colorado Youth Lacrosse Association League with their Summit County teammates. Games take place on Saturdays throughout April and May in the Denver area. Teams will practice at the rec center twice a week starting in March (practice days and times TBA). No experience? No problem! Our knowledgeable coaches will teach your children everything they need to know for a successful season. The program culminates with a weekend jamboree tournament in Denver. Rental gear is available upon request. Registration is open until today and the fee is $270 for the season.

Not interested in the competitive league? Try out lacrosse in a fun, low-pressure environment with our Learn to Play Lacrosse After School Program at the rec center. The after-school program is open to Summit youth ages 6-12. The program runs March 22-May 24 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. The cost is $81 for rec center members and $90 for non-members.

Swan Center Outreach training on Saturday

A training class for new volunteers is happening on Saturday at Swan Center Outreach. If you love horses and want to be a part of the Swan Center team, call John Longhill at (970) 468-0924 or email swancenter@mindspring to register. Volunteers learn about animal communication and herd behavior while learning valuable leadership skills. If you have ever wanted to “own” your own horse, and couldn't afford it, the this is the place to have a community ownership in 32 wonderful horses.

The Peak School open house on Sunday

The Peak School invites all interested families and community members to attend an open house on Sunday, from 3-5 p.m. at The Peak School, 103 S. Harris, (old CMC) in Breckenridge. Chamber/care clinic breakfast on Tuesday

The Summit Chamber of Commerce and the care clinic are hosting a breakfast, from 8:45-9:30 a.m. on Tuesday in the Buffalo Mountain Room at the County Commons, to talk about health care options for employers.
