Movies now showing in Summit County

'The Artist'

Hollywood, 1927: As silent movie star George Valentin wonders if the arrival of talking pictures will cause him to fade into oblivion, he sparks with Peppy Miller, a young dancer set for a big break. 100 minutes. PG-13.

'Act of Valor'

An elite team of Navy SEALs embark on a covert mission to recover a kidnapped CIA agent. 111 minutes. R.

'Gone'

When her sister disappears, Jill is convinced the serial killer who kidnapped her two years ago has returned, and she sets out to once again face her abductor. 94 minutes. PG-13.

'Wanderlust'

Rattled by sudden unemployment, a Manhattan couple surveys alternative living options, ultimately deciding to experiment with living on a rural commune where free love rules. 98 minutes. R.

'Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance'

In the successor to the worldwide hit "Ghost Rider," Johnny (Nicolas Cage) - still struggling with his curse as the devil's bounty hunter - is hiding out in a remote part of Eastern Europe when he is recruited by a secret sect of the church to save a young boy (Fergus Riordan) from the devil (Ciaran Hinds). 105 minutes. PG-13.

'This Means War'

The world's two foremost covert CIA operatives are trained assassins and master spies. They've saved the world on countless occasions, but these partners and best friends are about to experience the one situation way beyond their formidable skills - when they realize they're in love with the same woman. For the now-divided duo, this means war, and they're coming at each other with an arsenal capable of bringing down a small country. 105 minutes. PG-13.

'Journey 2: The Mysterous Land' (in 3D, and 2D)

In the follow-up to the 2008 hit, the new journey begins when young adventurer Sean (Josh Hutcherson) receives a coded distress signal from a mysterious island where no island should exist - a place of strange life forms, mountains of gold, deadly volcanoes, and more than one astonishing secret. 105 minutes. PG.

'Safe House'

Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds star in the action-thriller "Safe House." An American traitor (Washington) has been taken to a location off the grid in South Africa, where he is being held by an inexperienced CIA employee (Reynolds). After the safe house is attacked and the men escape, the young agent and his ruthless prisoner must survive the deadly underworld as the agency decides if it has another double agent on its hands. 120 minutes. R.

'Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace 3D'

Two Jedi Knights uncover a wider conflict when they are sent as emissaries to the blockaded planet Naboo. 136 minutes. PG.

'The Iron Lady'

See this drama about Margaret Thatcher, Britain's Prime Minister and the first female leader of a Western nation not because it's an incisive history lesson. It's too rushed to serve that purpose. Instead see it for Meryl Streep. Streep is impressive in portraying the conservative maverick's rise in Britain's political establishment. But she is astoundingly touching as the octogenarian whose once-great intellectual powers are flickering. (Denver Post review) 105 minutes. PG-13.
