There will be a fundraiser tonight at Upstairs at Jonny G's in Frisco. All money will be donated to the Pike's Peak Community Foundation, which helps victims and the firefighters of the Waldo Canyon fire. There will be live music performed by John Truscelli from 5-9, a giveaway from 9-10 and DJ Landry from 10 to close. There will be lots of ways to contribute during the fundraiser and chances to win a $140 gift certificate for acupuncture, a men's Burton snowboard, a trip to Aspen Canyon Ranch and much more.
The Summit Combined Housing Authority is seeking individuals to fill at least three open positions on its volunteer advisory board. Persons must be able to devote two to four hours per month (on average) to SCHA board meetings and other associated functions. SCHA is looking for this board to provide informed input regarding current events and their effects on local housing issues from various industries such as: real estate, title insurance, property management, lending/banking, health care resources, etc. Direct your letter of interest to SCHA executive director, Jennifer Kermode, and drop them at the SCHA office, located at 110 Ski Hill Road in Breckenridge, or email it to JenniferK@summithousing.us by Aug. 1.

Join us at the Riverwalk Center on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. for this fourth annual tribute to Colorado's music legend, John Denver. The concert will benefit Domus Pacis Family's mission of providing weeklong respites in the High Country for families impacted by cancer. Cost of tickets are $20 for general admission and $50 for VIP seating, which includes an after-concert party at Fatty's. Nature photographer John Fielder will host a photography workshop on Aug. 12 at his home in Silverthorne. This event will include personal instruction in nature landscape photography and technique, as well as dinner prepared by Doug Schwartz, chef at the CMC Culinary School. The cost is $250/person, with all proceeds going to Domus Pacis Family Respite. The mission of Domus Pacis is to provide families impacted by cancer a week of respite and peace in Summit. Lord of the Mountains Lutheran Church will again host a four-day church camp for elementary school-age children and preschoolers from July 30 through Aug. 2. "Camp Compassion" will focus on feelings and responsibilities toward the world and people around us. Each day will have a different theme such as compassion for the world, our community, for nature and environment and self. Activities will include music, bible stories, arts & crafts, scavenger hunts, service projects, outdoor games and indoor swimming. Pre- registration is due by Sunday, July 29. Potty-trained preschoolers, age 3-4 will meet from 9 a.m. to noon. Camp costs are $30 for the week or $10 per day if pre-registered, and $40/week or $15 /day if registering after July 29. Elementary-school children in grades K to 5 will meet from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Camp costs are $60 for the week or $20 per day if pre-registered, and $70/week or $25/day after July 29. Scholarships are available. All children are welcome to attend. Father Dyer United Methodist Church in Breck seeks donations of household items, ski equipment/clothing, children's clothing, toys, games, etc. for its annual treasure sale on Saturday. Drop off your gently used items at the church from Wednesday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. No adult clothing, mattresses or electronics. Come back Saturday between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. to purchase other people's treasures. Proceeds will benefit Father Dyer's Special Assistance Fund for local personal emergencies.
