Silverthorne police have not yet identified a suspect in a break-in July 22 at the Elks Lodge resulting in the theft of approximately $1,500.
Bob Knorr, club manager for the Elks in Silverthorne, reported a break-in after a member of the club arrived on the morning July 22 for an event.
Someone allegedly broke into the lodge through the back door sometime before 8 a.m. July 22 stealing approximately $1,500 in cash and checks.
Police arrived on scene to investigate the forced entry, dusting for finger prints and taking pictures, Knorr said.
"We have no idea who could have done this, but they seemed to have known about the back door entrance to the lodge," Knorr said. "We have so many people coming through on a daily basis."
The break-in is thought to have happened after-hours between the night of July 21 and the morning of July 22, according to Knorr.
Calls to the Silverthorne Police Department regarding the incident were not returned.
Ryan Hyland, spokesman for Silverthorne confirmed the incident.
"The police report on the incident has not yet been finalized, but the Silverthorne Police Department is investigating the break-in," Hyland said.
