The boat ramp at Williams Fork reservoir is closing as the water level drops due to drought conditions.
The boat ramps no long reach the surface of the water, according to a statement from Denver Water.
"This has been a challenging year for reservoir operators all across Colorado," the utility's recreation manager stated in the release. "We wish we were able to keep the boat ramp open longer, but unfortunately, the drought conditions have prevented that from happening. Anglers can still enjoy the reservoir with hand-launched boats."
The ramp will remain closed for the rest of 2012.
Only small hand-launched boats, including canoes, kayaks and bellyboats will be able to access the reservoir. No motorized vessels will be allowed.
