Performance parodies the game of bridge

John Darling, a summer resident of Dillon, brings his comedic writing talent to Summit County in an original musical parody of the game of bridge, showing one time only, tonight at the Silverthorne Pavilion.

"Bottom Board Blues" consists of seven multi-talented performers who humorously attack various aspects of the game of bridge through original songs and skits.

"If you like to laugh and can tell one card suit from another, then this is the show for you," said Darling, who also wrote and produced a musical parody of the finance industry called "Up Your Asset Allocation" that was featured at finance industry conferences across the country.

"Bottom Board Blues" is directed by longtime Summit County resident Caroline Foley, who also serves as music director.

The show starts at 7 p.m. with a silent auction benefiting Summit County Seniors preceding the performance. The auction, organized by Darling's wife Judy, includes a sailing adventure on Lake Dillon, restaurant gift certificates, an eye exam and a week at a luxury condominium in Summit County. A cash bar will be available during the silent auction part of the evening.

"Bottom Board Blues" promises to be a hoot, and rumor has it the costumes are outrageous. Call (970) 262-7370 for tickets.
