Keystone: LDTC presents new fall concert tonight at Warren Station

The Lake Dillon Theatre Company presents a new fall concert of Broadway and jazz standards tonight at Warren Station in Keystone. The evening promises contemporary jazz, pop and modern musical standards with performances from current Broadway shows and recent hits from the last decade.

The program features Priscilla Fernandez and Christopher Flowers, who play the lead roles in the theater's current production, "Marry Me a Little," along with musical director Jonathan Parks. Also treating the audience to their talents are executive director Joshua Blanchard, who starred in "Kiss of the Spider Woman," and producing artistic director Chris Alleman.

"We'll have a three-piece band, piano, drums and bass," said Alleman. "There's going to be a little bit of everything - Broadway classics, jazz standards, one or two Elvis songs, songs by the group the Temptations - a cornucopia of favorites."

The Lake Dillon Theatre Company usually does two concerts a year - a Broadway Now concert showcasing current, popular Broadway pieces, and a Broadway Then featuring the classics, Alleman said.

"These concerts have always been very popular because of the opportunity for people to see staff having a good time but also because people just love hearing music; they love reminiscing," Alleman said. "That's why we do things mostly familiar to people - to bring back memories. People just clutch onto these concerts because they're a lot of fun."

The fall concerts, started four years ago, will take place Nov. 2-4 at the Lake Dillon Theatre and feature actors from the upcoming "Fox on the Fairway" production (Nov. 23 to Dec. 16) in addition to visiting actors from Denver, Alleman said.

Tonight's concert is in a similar vein, but takes place at Warren Station and benefits the Lake Dillon Theatre's educational and outreach programming.

Table seating at the concert is sold out, but $20 tickets for regular seating are available at www.lakedillontheatre.org; box office: (970) 513-9386. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the concert goes from 6:30-8:30.
