FLORENCE - The reputed head of the Montreal Mafia has been released from a federal prison in Colorado.
Federal Bureau of Prisons spokesman Chris Burke said Vito Rizzuto was released from FCI Florence prison early Friday.
Burke said Rizzuto was sentenced to 10 years in prison after he pleaded guilty in 2007 to racketeering charges. Rizzuto was given credit for time served and good behavior.
Rizzuto was in prison in Colorado for racketeering related to three Mafia murders.
