Two kids' season ski passes - one from Arapahoe Basin, one from Vail Resorts - highlight the prizes available at the Lake Dillon Fire-Rescue annual open house from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Dillon fire station at 225 Lake Dillon Drive.
Kids will be asked to get a sign-off on their "passports" from every learning station at the open house to be entered into a drawing to win the ski passes, as well as bike helmets and other fun prizes. Learning stations will include using a fire extinguisher, taking a tour of the fire station, practicing on the 9-1-1 simulator and visiting with other public-safety organizations.
The family friendly event is free and open to the public, and everyone will be treated to free hot dogs, chips and sodas, plus great information on fire safety. The annual open house is held in conjunction with national Fire Prevention Week and is a terrific way to meet our firefighters and learn how to stay safe from fire.
