Denver Post chooses Obama for 2nd term

DENVER - Colorado's largest newspaper has endorsed President Barack Obama for a second term in office.

The Denver Post said in an editorial Friday that the president deserves a second term because he has a superior blueprint for the next four years than Republican Mitt Romney.

However, the newspaper said that choosing either candidate requires voters to make a "leap of faith" because neither has made a strong enough case for how he'll lead the nation.

The newspaper also endorsed Obama four years ago. In 2004, the paper endorsed Republican President George W. Bush. Since 1984, all candidates but one endorsed by The Denver Post have gone on to win the election. The candidate who did not win was Democrat Al Gore in 2000.
