The following is an email I received from Sen. Bennet:
Thank you for contacting me regarding the 'fiscal cliff' our nation faces from the impending sequestration process. I appreciate hearing from you.
This sequestration is the result of Washington's failure to work together on a comprehensive solution to the national debt. It's one reason that I often refer to Washington as the land of flickering lights, where the standard of success is keeping government running for a few months at a time. I have heard from Coloradans across the state in my town hall meetings who've told me that a comprehensive plan should materially reduce the deficit, be bipartisan and show we're all in it together. Such a plan should provide certainty for Colorado businesses that are already worried about the harm a sequester would do to their bottom line.
Washington must rise above its typical partisan gamesmanship to address our growing $15 trillion debt. If we do not act quickly, our kids and grandkids will not have the same opportunities that our parents and grandparents made available to us.
I will continue to work with my colleagues in the Senate on a bipartisan basis to avoid the impending fiscal cliff and to advocate for a comprehensive deficit reduction plan that benefits all Americans.
I value the input of fellow Coloradans in considering the wide variety of important issues and legislative initiatives that come before the Senate. I hope you will continue to inform me of your thoughts and concerns.
United States Senator"
Does this mean that the Democrats are going to take my property to pay the national debt?
