Two days of ski & snowboard films

After kicking off last Friday, the new "Get Stoked" winter film series at Warren Station continues this weekend with two days of ski and snowboard films at Keystone Resort, tonight and Saturday night, to celebrate opening weekend.Tonight's movies include Absinthe Films' "Resonance," described as "an artistic celebration of Mother Nature's 2011-2012 winter" and featuring some of the industry's best snowboarders posting backcountry lines and riding urban locations around the globe, from Alaska, Japan and Europe to the Pacific Northwest. Next is "Sunny," a ski movie from Level 1, also featuring backcountry and urban shots, set in Scandinavia, Alaska, Japan and British Columbia. The film seeks to inject a positive mood into a not-so-stellar season last year, with plenty of wall-slamming fun in addition to the pow the skiers sought worldwide. On Saturday night, Warren Station opens its doors again for Poor Boyz Productions' "WE: A Collection of Individuals" and Matchstick Productions' "Superheroes of Stoke" following the second rail jam in the A51 River Run Rail Series, taking place in River Run Village Saturday afternoon. This year, Poor Boyz takes on the preconception that skiing is an individual sport, illustrating both its artistic side and collaborative nature. "WE" follows some of the industry's most influential skiers around the world seeking powder as well as creative street and park features. Closing out Saturday night is Matchstick Productions' "Superheroes of Stoke," which commemorates the 20-year anniversary of MSP's first ski film by honoring freeskiing's heroes - past, present and future - including those who gave their lives for the sport they loved. The film uses storytelling and first person perspective to give voice to the industry's game-changers. The "Get Stoked" series, presented by Keystone Neighborhood Company, includes raffle prizes and drink specials both nights. Parking is free in the River Run lots off Gondola Road. Take Highway 6 east from Interstate 70. Info: www.warrenstation.com
