Cox: Please vote yes on 5A

To all property owners and residents of the Lake Dillon Fire Protection District,

The Lake Dillon Fire Protection District (LDFPD) is asking all registered voters and property owners to approve a 0.741 mill levy property tax rate increase. This is the first such mill levy increase the district has asked for in more than 11 years. The LDFPD receives over 90 percent of its operating revenue from property taxes. As property values have decreased, the LDFPD has experienced a 17 percent decrease in revenue, while operating expenses have continued to increase. This trend is expected to continue for the foreseeable future. In order for the LDFPD to continue to maintain the high level of service that our residents have come to expect it has become necessary to ask for this mill levy increase. The reasons for this increase have been well-documented in both the Summit Daily and in TABOR-mandated comments supporting Ballot Question 5A.

Please support your Lake Dillon Fire Protection District firefighters and staff by voting "Yes" on Ballot Question 5A on Tuesday, Nov. 6. Thanks in advance for your support!
