Today is Colorado Gives Day

Over the past two years, Coloradans illustrated tremendous generosity by contributing $20 million to their favorite local charities during Colorado Gives Day. Organized by Community First Foundation, Colorado Gives Day is an initiative to increase philanthropy in Colorado through a 24-hour period of online giving with a goal to inspire and unite Coloradans in supporting nonprofit organizations throughout the state. Giving began at midnight on Monday and runs until midnight tonight. All donations will be directed to the charities specified by the donor. FirstBank has again pledged $300,000 through an Incentive Fund that will leverage every gift and be distributed proportionally as a "boost" to each donor's contributions. One of more than a dozen nonprofits in Summit County registered with GivingFirst, The Summit Foundation will be eligible to receive donations through Colorado Gives Day. In addition to the foundation, Summit County and neighboring community-based organizations eligible to receive contributions through Colorado Gives Day include Boys and Girls Club of South Park, Breckenridge Music Festival, Colorado West Regional Mental Health, CASA of the Continental Divide, Continental Divide Land Trust, Domus Pacis Family Respite, Family & Intercultural Resource Center, Friends of the Dillon Ranger District, Full Circle of Lake County, High Country Conservation Center, Keystone Science School, Keystone Symposia, Lake Dillon Theatre Company, National Repertory Orchestra, Rocky Mountain Rural Health, SOS Outreach, Summit Community Care Clinic, Summit Public Radio & TV, and Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado.
