Celebrate the joy and hope of the holiday season with the Lord of the Mountains Sanctuary Choir as it performs the cantata "Tapestry of Light," A Celtic Christmas Celebration. This free choral concert is presented by Summit Music and Arts as part of its 2012-13 Concert Series on Sunday, Dec. 16, at 5 p.m. at Lord of the Mountains Church in Dillon. LOTM music director, organist, and choral director Len Rhodes will direct the choir from the piano.
"Tapestry of Light" is a cantata containing traditional carols and lush Celtic melodies, scripture readings and candlelight. Familiar tunes and thoughtful narration underscore the uplifting theme of the work. This jubilant cantata contains recognizable melodies such as "I Saw Three Ships," "Sussex Carol," "Scarborough Fair," "Greensleeves," and "Londonderry Air," which are not ordinarily associated with Christmas. The concert will also contain some other seasonal music. There will be a reception following this cantata.
