Gracing the stage at three20south in Breckenridge tonight is Doctor Robert, The Beatles Tribute featuring - you guessed it - all Beatles, all the time. Here, band member Kevin Reinert breaks it down so you can understand better:
The genius of The Beatles' music and songwriting. We're also influenced by many other bands such as The Allman Brothers, Grateful Dead and Phish, who were all influenced by The Beatles.
For some reason, some fans think it's acceptable to take our tambourine from our percussion table (we coined the term "tambourism" from these experiences). Most of these folks don't have much rhythm so it can be very distracting. At one show in Buena Vista, a fan didn't appreciate us telling him he couldn't take the tambourine, so he went home to get his own. About halfway through the set, he was so intoxicated he fell face first into the stage. That was the end of his evening.
We play different sets every show, and know 105 out of 210 Beatles songs spanning their entire career. We like to weave in and out of songs from the different eras, and generally play around 50 songs for a show like this.
Expanding our setlist, blending songs without stopping between, performing bigger and more high profile shows, expanding our touring beyond Colorado.
We're from Crested Butte and have played over 100 shows around Colorado since September 2010.
