Organizers are seeking additional volunteers to serve as meal servers, lounge attendants and more for the Budweiser International Snow Sculpture Championships. Oberlin Conservatory of Music violin student, Luke Fatora of Silverthorne, recently performed with the Oberlin Orchestra as part a New York City tour. Students and faculty visited four venues, including Carnegie Hall, with performances by the Oberlin Faculty Jazz Ensemble, Oberlin Contemporary Music Ensemble with International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE), Oberlin College Choir, Oberlin Baroque and the Oberlin Orchestra.

"Dancing and Delectables," an evening of dancing and desserts, is planned for early February to raise funds for the Summit High School jazz band and chorus. The evening will include music by the two groups. Volunteers are needed to organize the event and solicit and collect donations. Call Thekla and Merle Schultz at (970) 468-4876 to volunteer.

The Backstage Theatre in Breckenridge is soliciting headshots and resumes for its summer 2013 shows, "Avenue Q," "Charlotte's Web" and "The 39 Steps." All positions are paid. Performances take place at the Breckenridge Theatre and rehearsals are conducted in Denver. Lodging is available for cast members traveling outside Summit County. The Summit Choral Society has resumed rehearsals for its trip to Carnegie Hall as well as its local spring concert, scheduled for April. Rehearsals take place Monday nights from 7-9 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church at Farmers Korner in Breckenridge. Anyone who enjoys singing is welcome to attend rehearsals and sing in the spring concert. Three spaces are left for serious musicians to take part in the Carnegie Hall trip.
