Good morning and welcome to Summit Up, the world's only daily column that's wondering if there's some kind of specialized baby name book that circulates around Hollywood.
We all know that celebrities are often crazy and attention-grabbing types, but never does it seem to really hit home so much as when we hear what they've decided to name their kids.
It seems there are several choices you can make, as a celebrity, to come up with a new way to shock fans. Naming the child after an object, for example, like Apple (Gwyneth Paltrow), Moon Unit (Frank Zappa), or Camera (tennis player Arthur Ashe).
If that doesn't appeal, why not choose the name of a super hero, like Nicholas Cage's son Kal-El, or a name that sounds like a super hero that an internet quiz made up, such as Moxie Crimefighter (Penn Jillette) or Pilot Inspektor (Jason Lee).
If all that sounds exhausting, then just take a page out of the book of George Forman, the professional boxer, who named each of his five sons George: George Jr., George III, George IV, George V and George IV.
But we're not complaining too much, because crazy names sure do keep those gossip magazine headlines interesting, and we like to read those while we're standing in line at the grocery store. We out.
