Hertrich-Daniels: Give Frisco's Main Street a friendly feel

Frisco's Main Street kept a very nice, even if outdated, appearance. My husband and I lived here for seven years. I have been a resident of Colorado since 1965 and wouldn't live anywhere else. The newest brainchild of our town officials seems questionable at best. One wouldn't make a Main Street lopsided, adding feet to one side and not the other. It will be a very odd way of improving our town. Years ago I saw a design by Mary Hart and it seemed to be fabulous. Trees and a small pedestrian zone, widening of walks and many more pleasant features. But our esteemed/opinionated town fathers said "No." Why does the town have a planning committee, are they involved? I doubt it. I feel lots of town's people don't attend meetings because their voices will not be heard but turned down. I wish I could attend some meetings, but I have business to take care of in Boulder County, where we lived the whole of 2012 (due to my husband's illness and passing). Please reconsider your present proposal and listen to your residents, who by the way pay taxes and also some of your income. Frisco is just a lovely place, let it flourish! With Whole Foods coming, which is a great store and their affairs are handled fair and square. I know, an adopted son works openings for them and also is at the Ft. Collins store. Give other stores/businesses a chance with incentives which might be hard to refuse. You have done it for many before. I agree whole heartedly with Mary Wilson's letter to your paper. Kudos to her.

Please, please try to appease some, if not all, of the people living here, pull out the sketch from years ago.
