Some conservatives have managed to turn the concept of religious freedom on its head. By denying employers, such as Hobby Lobby, the right to impose their religious beliefs and practices, about contraception, on their employees who may have different beliefs, the employers complain their religious freedom is being infringed. Now we have Morgan Liddick ranting that to permit civil unions would somehow infringe upon the religious freedom of some Christians. How about allowing some freedom of religion to those whose religious beliefs permit civil unions and/or contraception?
