The Peak School will host an open house today from 9-11 p.m. at 103 S. Harrist St. in Breckenridge. All families and students are encouraged to arrive at any time during the event to learn more about The Peak School's academic program. Visitors will have a chance to meet teachers and students and to view classes.
The Peak School is an independent nonprofit school for middle and high school students, working to combine a personalized education with high academic expectations, character education and a community built around intellectual curiosity and support.
"Summit County has been blessed with one of the most forward thinking, progressive and innovative alternatives for providing the new-world education our children require and deserve today," stated parents Jeff and Lisa Citron.
The Peak School offers classes in Chinese, Spanish, STEM and outdoor education along with all core classes. Class size is small, between eight to 16 students, with a 7:1 student-teacher ratio.
In the 2013-14 school year, The Peak School will offer grades six to nine, adding a grade each year through 12th at a new location on Main Street in Frisco. For more information, visit www.ThePeakSchool.org.
