Eighth annual CampExperience returns to Keystone with new adventures

The eighth-annual CampExperience Retreat for Amazing Women returns to Keystone Resort & Conference Center today through Sunday.

This year’s theme is “Infinite Possibilities” and continues the annual tradition of celebration, inspiration and education with 40 speakers and activity leaders; 53 hours of fantastic food, new adventures and creative activities; 60 sponsoring organizations serving women; and 250 “Camp Sisters” in an active network for building your business and yourself.

Boutique shopping and spa services, as well as live and silent auctions, benefit three Denver charity partners: United Way, Dress for Success and Warren Village and a fund for Random Acts of Kindness, which is given in $500 donations to randomly drawn visitor’s charities. CampExperience also commissioned the “bag ladies” from FIRC, the Family & Intercultural Resource Center, to sew 250 gift handbags as special gifts for attendees.

New adventures

New at CampExperience are two activities led by local experts. The Keystone Science School will lead an astronomy class for all participants today at 8:15 p.m. on the outdoor Belvedere space on the roof at the Conference Center. Science School executive director Ellen Reid and camp director Seth Oglesby will lead campers in exploring the Summit County night sky with telescopes and smartphone applications.

Brad Deats, from the Summit Range Association, will lead the first-ever “Introduction to Target and Skeet Shooting” at the Summit Range at the Keystone Landfill. This activity will be held Saturday afternoon for 2 1/2 hours for as many as 20 women.

These new adventures join annual adventures led by Summit County instructors: fly fishing led by Char Bloom and nature hikes led by Sue Greene. Other adventures at CampExperience include self-defense, sewing, pottery, painting and jewelry making.
