125 national and local artists will fill Frisco’s Main Street this weekend

Residents and travelers are invited to discover artists' inspirations and find new favorites artworks at this weekend's 11th annual Main Street to the Rockies Art Festival. Unparalleled artists will showcase world-class works spanning all mediums from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Aug. 12 and 13. Whether your passions run to jewelry, one of a kind paintings and exquisitely crafted glasswork, or an art deco sculpture, visitors are sure to find it during this free, two-day event. Even collectors and art appreciators with plenty of art festival experience are bound to find something unusual and new.

Presented by Howard Alan Events, producer of the nation's finest juried art shows, this show represents original, handmade artwork selected by an independent panel of expert judges from hundreds of applicants. Their careful vetting process ensures a wide array of mediums and price ranges will be offered during the festival.

"When we first started our shows three decades ago in South Florida, we had numerous people every winter ask if we could bring our shows to Colorado," says HAE founder Howard Alan. "Every winter season now, whether it is on Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale, downtown Sarasota or Boca Raton, people come up and ask us if we're coming back to Beaver Creek or downtown Aspen. Our Colorado tour is based on popular demand."

There will be a vast array of art for viewing and for sale, including jewelry, collage, mixed-media, paintings, sculptures, photography, ceramics, glass, wood and much more. The weekend is an entire experience of learning what motivates each artist and the story behind each piece.

"You're getting the artists themselves all weekend, all day," said Elisabeth Dashiell, spokeswoman for the festival.

Dashiell recommends attendees take their time slowly strolling down Main Street this weekend.
