On Tuesday, Nov. 11, businesses all around Summit County will recognize the service of U.S. military personnel and their families with discounts and other offers. Here's a list of many of the deals available, most requiring a military ID or other proof of service. Deals are subject to change and will not be honored solely on the basis of the publication of this article.

Breckenridge

• Breckenridge Sports (535 S. Park Ave., (970) 453-3000; 1599 Colorado Road 3, (970) 496-7546) is offering a 15 percent military discount on Tuesday, Nov. 11.

• Starbucks (225 S. Main St., (970) 547-4373) is offering a free tall (12-ounce) brewed coffee to veterans, active duty service members and military spouses on Tuesday, Nov. 11.

Colorado Parks

• Colorado Parks and Wildlife offers all military men and women free admission to Colorado's state parks on Veterans Day, Tuesday, Nov. 11. To obtain free admission to a state park, veterans, active duty military personnel (including active duty, Reserve and National Guard members) and their families must show a valid active, reserve or retired military identification card; an identification card from the Veterans' Administration, Veterans of Foreign Wars or the American Legion; discharge papers or a DD214; or other proof of service The identification should be presented at the park gate. All other passengers in the vehicle will be admitted for free.

• Bed, Bath and Beyond (318 Dillon Ridge Road, (970) 513-0319) is offering active duty, reserves, guard, retirees, veterans and military spouses 20 percent off their entire purchase through Tuesday, Nov. 11, in-store only with a valid military ID.

• Einstein Bros Bagels (35 Dillon Ridge Road, Dillon, (970) 468-7436) is giving free coffee to all military personnel with valid ID on, Tuesday, Nov. 11.

• Ruby Tuesday (270 Dillon Ridge Road, (970) 513-7346) is offering veterans, active duty and reserve service members a free appetizer with proof of service on Tuesday, Nov. 11.

• Starbucks (324 Dillon Ridge Road, (970) 513-7084; inside City Market, 300 U.S. Highway 6, (970) 468-2363) is offering a free tall (12-ounce) brewed coffee to veterans, active duty service members and military spouses on Tuesday, Nov. 11.

Frisco

• Frisco Elementary School will host a Veterans Day Assembly on Tuesday, Nov. 11. The school is inviting veterans to join students from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for classroom talks and a lunch social, followed by an assembly. RSVP to Leslie at (970) 409-8926 or by email to mountainmom70@gmail.com.

• Surefoot (0195 River Run Road, (970) 468-6466) is offering a 20 percent military discount on Tuesday, Nov. 11.

Silverthorne

• Arby's (165 Stephens Way, (970) 468-0242) is offering veterans a free classic roast beef sandwich on Tuesday, Nov. 11. One sandwich per person and must be in uniform or show proof of U.S. military service.

• Lowe's (201 Buffalo Mountain Drive, (970) 968-4000) is offering current service members, retired veterans, Veterans Administration recipients and their immediate family 10 percent off through Wednesday, Nov. 12. DD214 or other proof of service is required.

• Mountain Sports Outlet (167 Meraly Way and U.S. Highway 6, (970) 262-2836) is offering a 15 percent military discount on Tuesday, Nov. 11.

• The Summit County Elks Lodge and Rotary Club of Summit County will have reserved tables for veterans, active-duty personnel and their families at the Tuesday, Nov. 11, Community Dinner. Dinner is from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Summit County Elks Lodge No. 2561, 1321 Blue River Parkway, Silverthorne. U.S. Forest Service

The U.S. Forest Service will waive fees at most of its day-use recreation sites through Tuesday, Nov. 11, in honor of Veterans Day. Fees will be waived generally for day-use areas, such as picnic grounds, developed trailheads and destination visitor centers. Sites operated by private concessionaires may be included in the waiver if the permit holder wishes to participate.
