Breckenridge Ascent Race #2

Breckenridge, Feb. 12

6:15 a.m., Breckenridge Ski Resort, Peak 9 Base Area, Beaver Run Parking Lot, 620 Village Road, Breckenridge. Take on a different kind of challenge this winter with the 5th Annual Breckenridge Ascent Series, presented by Breckenridge Ski Resort and the Breckenridge Recreation Department! Race #2 begins at the Peak 9 base (Beaver Run). Use any means to get up the mountain whether it be snowshoes, nordic skis or AT setups. However, skis or a snowboard are required to come back down! Same-day registration is in the Beaver Run Parking Lot starting at 5:45 a.m. for $25.

Barney Ford Victorian Home

Breckenridge, Feb. 12-14

11 a.m. to 3 p.m., 111 East Washington Ave., Breckenridge. The Barney Ford House Museum honors the escaped slave who prospered and became a prominent entrepreneur and black civil right leader in Colorado. Call (970) 453-9767, x2.

Caribou Mountain Collective

Frisco, Feb. 12

9 p.m., Barkley Ballroom, 610 Main St., Frisco. Head down to the Barkely Ballroom for a night of live entertainment you will be talking about for a long time as the Caribou Mountain Collective takes the stage with Soofy and the Walrus.
