Frisco Historic Park & Museum closing for restoration projects

The Frisco Historic Park & Museum will be closed to the public from April 3 to April 16 for restorative floor work, according to a town of Frisco news release.

During the closure, museum staff will be working on collections inventory, cleaning and maintenance projects. The museum plans to reopen with new shiny floors in time for the April 20 Easter Egg Hunt.

The museum and park see over 35,000 visitors a year, and almost a quarter of a million people in the last eight years, which causes a lot of wear and tear, the release stated.

“This is a very exciting project for museum staff and the community to benefit from,” said Frisco Historic Park & Museum manager Simone Belz in the release. “Staff is really enthused that the floors are being repaired and restored to make the museum not only look bright and polished, but (also) safe for the public.

“All of town’s historic preservation projects at the museum are part of the long-term maintenance and care of these old facilities and we thank the community for your patience and support.”
